ALL HOURS LUNCH w/ YSL BEAUTY
I had a Charlie Bucket moment this August and it's all thanks to YSL Beauty who invited me along to the launch of their brand new All Hours stick foundation. I love a good beauty buy and when I hear about a new product that has everyone talking, I need get my hands on it and test it out for myself- FAST.
Foundation for me is so important and I've always splurged on the more higher end brands for my perfect coverage. Anything that is in direct contact with your skin is always worth spending a few extra pennies on as for the most part they're packed with nourishing ingredients that will look after your biggest asset.
I've worn YSL ever since my Mam allowed me to play around with makeup. Touche Éclat is one of my holy grain products and was the first concealer/highlighter to snuggle itself inside my makeup bag. My favourite lipstick ever was a vibrant juicy pink from the Rouge Volupté collection that was my go-to for years and YSL's The Shock mascara has given life to my eyes for almost a decade. In other words, I'm a true, loyal fan of the brand so to be invited along to the launch of their new All Hours foundation stick was so bloody exciting!
Honestly, I've always found stick foundations a little intimidating, the fear of cake face keeping me away. However, YSL have worked their magic in such a way that their offering is super light and velvety on the skin but still with a decent medium coverage. It's incredible! I had a feeling I would love it from my first swatch but having worn it for a full nine hours straight on the day of posting... I haven't had to touch up once and my skin looks just as fresh as when I first applied it without an oily patch in sight #winning.
Perhaps one of the best things about the product is its dinky size which perfect for travelling. The packaging is beautiful too and I love how it complements the liquid foundation meaning you can use it to do both a full face and for touch ups on the go. The stick foundation comes in an impressive number of shades and we were encouraged to play around with them and they double up as contour and highlighter sticks. A multi-purpose product? Yes, please!!
Makeup nerd-out aside, the launch was in Dublin's recently opened Ivy Restaurant. I'd heard and read so much about it, I couldn't wait to go myself and oh my goodness... it is so beautiful inside. It's like being transported to another world, a botanical paradise. And the food? Well that didn't disappoint either! I will definitely be back. We dined in the private Jonathan Swift room and I'm already planning my 30th birthday dinner there... sure it would be rude not to!!
